This class focuses on teaching the fundamentals of pointe work to students of appropriate age, technical ability, and physical readiness. Due to the risk of injury, dancers must be properly prepared before beginning pointe training. A full year of pre-pointe training is required, along with a pointe assessment evaluation prior to advancing into pointe work.
The assessment allows teachers and students to identify areas that require further development in preparation for pointe. Evaluation focuses on leg alignment and strength, foot flexibility, strength, alignment, and shape, ankle strength, and overall body alignment required for safe pointe work.
Students will continue their classical ballet technique training alongside pre-pointe and pointe preparation, building the strength, control, and alignment necessary for progression.
Dancers must be evaluated by instructor before class placement. Our goal is for students to take full advantage of each style to their maximum potential. Schedule your trail class now!
